Margaret J. (Nance) Payne, 82, of New Albany, Indiana passed away Thursday at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. She was born in New Albany to the late Louis and Edith (Barker) Nance. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her late husband’s Vollie D. Atwood and Henry B. Payne and sister Josephine Mattingly.

JEWELL MAY BARNETT, 100, passed away Friday September 30, 2016 at the Rolling Hills Healthcare Center.  She was the former Jewell Roberson, born in English, Indiana and was a very active member of Culbertson Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess. She was preceded in death by her husband: Thomas E. Barnett and her brother: Wayne Roberson.

Survivors include:

Her daughter:              Janet S. Marlow (Louis),

2 Grandchildren:         Lea Marlow M.D. and Brad Marlow and

2 Great Grandchildren:   Sydney and Hunter Marlow.

William F. Elrod, 89, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away Wednesday at his residence in Corydon, Indiana. He was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana to the late Herman W. and Flossie E. (Wampler) Elrod. He retired from L&N Railroad’s accounting and claims department in 1984. Mr. Elrod was a US Navy veteran having served aboard the USS Bunker Hill during W.W. II. He was a former member of Wesley Chapel UMC in Floyds Knobs, Indiana

EDITH D. FENWICK, 92, passed away Monday September 26, 2016 at the Rolling Hills Healthcare Center.  She was the former Edith Lang, born in New Albany and was a member of the Scottsville Christian Church.  She was very active with several Senior Citizens Groups where she served as “The Taxi.”    She was preceded in death by her husband:  George “Connie” Fenwick and her parents: Garrett and Laura Lang, her siblings: Aileen Jenkins, Gerald, Edwin, Vernon and Leo Lang.
