MILDRED G. WATHEN, age 96, passed away Sunday February 26, 2017 at Kindred
Rolling Hills Nursing Home, New Albany, Indiana.
She was a retired Registered Nurse from Norton Hospital, Louisville, KY. She was a graduate of Jeffersonville High School and attended Spalding University and Indiana University Southeast. She was a member of Wall Street United Methodist Church and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Jeffersonville, IN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Hildreth Wathen, a daughter-Linda K. Leach Knichtli, and her parents Gilbert and Alici George.

VIRGINIA E. DeMENT, 91, passed away Sunday February 26, 2017 at the Green Valley Care Center. She was born in New Albany and was the former Virginia E. Voignier. She was a Girl Scout Leader, a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Lafayette Township Ladies Auxiliary and she was a Founding Member of the Scottsville Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert T. DeMent Sr.

Katherine Louise Mitchell, 98, of Westminster Senior Living Community, Clarksville, Indiana passed away Wednesday at Kentuckiana Medical Center. She was the former Katherine Burns, a native of Jefferson County, Kentucky. Katherine was a homemaker and was active in many square dancing clubs, enjoyed playing cards and was involved in the senior Olympics where she was a bowler. She formerly attended St. Joe Hill Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Charles E. Mitchell, Sr.

Gary K. Fentress, 77, died Friday February 17th, 2017. He was a resident of Sellersburg, IN. He was a native of Jasper, Indiana, the oldest son of Victor Ray and Mary Frances (Jones) Fentress.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother William “Tiny” and baby sister Verla Rhea.
