Harold E. Kron, 90, passed away on Tuesday May 23rd, 2017 at The Villages at Historic Silvercrest in New Albany, Indiana. He was born in New Albany to the late Roy and Mary (Leffler) Kron. He was a current member of Trinity United Methodist Church in New Albany and was a former longtime member of Centenary United Methodist Church. He was involved in several church and volunteer organizations including the Salvation Army. Mr. Kron was retired from the sales department at the Nabisco Corporation in Louisville, Kentucky. He served as a Floyd County Deputy Sheriff, 20 years as a New Albany Police Officer, and 10 years with Community Corrections. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Mildred M. “Millie” Baker, the former Millie Durbin, passed away Wednesday May 17, 2017 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. She was born in Borden, Indiana and was a lifelong resident of New Albany. She retired from the Floyd County Plan Commission after 19 years of service and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints on Slate Run Road in New Albany.
Survivors include her grandsons Larry, Chris and Wesley Bennett.

Mildred was born on May 18, 1917, in New Albany, Indiana to John A. and Nellie Gadient and was the middle child of three children. After graduating from New Albany High School in 1935, Mildred attended DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana and graduated with honors in 1939.
