BRENDA BAILEY AGEE, 75, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at Baptist Health Floyd.

“As the deer panteth for the water, so my soul longeth after thee…you alone are my strength, my shield, to you alone does my spirit yield.” – Psalm 42:1

Brenda was the very ‘heart’ of a large and loving family. Leaning on her faith, she met life’s many adversities with an extraordinary grace and strength seen in her unwavering smile.

While a young mother of five, Brenda was preceded in death by her first husband, Vernon James “Jim” Bailey, while they were traveling abroad in Turkey visiting close family friends. Subsequently, she was proceeded in death by her second husband: Miles Kenneth “Ken” Agee, with whom she shared a love of praise and worship music. Also preceding Brenda are her parents: Louis and Betty Ader and her brother: Larry Ader.

Survivors include:

3 Sons:             Bryan Bailey (Teresa), Daniel Bailey (Jolae) and Levi Bailey (Christina),

2 Daughters:     Marcia Bailey Caldwell (Doug) and Lana Bailey Stephens,

1 Brother:         James Ader (Karen),

1 Sister: Peggy Wagner (Robert)

23 Grandchildren and several Great Grandchildren and

4 Stepchildren: James Agee, Stephanie Chrappa, Dawn Green (Phil) and John Agee.

Dedicating her life in service of her Savior as a teacher of faith-based science at Graceland Baptist (New Albany, Indiana) and Calvary Christian School (Myrtle Beach, South Carolina), her teaching extended well beyond textbook knowledge. Treating each of her students as a part of her extended family, she provided life-long lessons through her unconditional love, care, and compassion.

A funeral service celebrating Brenda’s life will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville(1119 E. Market St.) with burial in SCI-Graceland Memorial Park.  Visitation will be from 4 – 8 PM Monday.
