    Max, Rita, Tony and Tim,
I was so glad I came to your father’s service yesterday. I respected him so much and wanted to be there–for him, your mom and you. I just did not anticipate being so blessed by the service. It was beautiful: the way grandchildren shared in the service, Jim Lewis’ presiding and share about “Rev. Underwood’s life, faith and ministry, the music, and the booklet of his poems and studies he wrote. I have never been to a funeral, where the family gave a gift to those who attended–and it was a wonderful gift. I will treasure it, I plan to cosy up to the fireplace a few evenings soon and read them.
Rita, sorry I called you “Jo”, your mother’s name–which I well knew but wasn’t thinking in the moment–but I think it may also be your middle name. I recognized your face but did not recall the correct first name..
Thanks to the grandchildren who shared in the service.
