Betty Jean (Slaughter) Slaughter

September 28, 1947 ~ June 16, 2018 (age 70)

Betty Jean Slaughter, 70, passed away Saturday at her home. She was born in New Albany, Indiana, September 28, 1947.  Betty was actively involved in the Special Olympics and awarded several trophies for her participation in the sport of bowling. Betty enjoyed shopping, Mexican food and presents, especially at Christmas. Most of all she loved spending quality time with her family and loved ones. Anyone she met instantly became like family to her. If she knew you, she loved you. Preceded in death by: father – Edward Slaughter; mother – Dorothy Ballew; sister – Doris Mae Slaughter and her brother – Michael Epperson. Survivors: brothers – Paul Epperson (Leithea) and Ralph Riley; sisters – Rose Dodge (Major) and Mary Tudder (Steven) as well as her many beloved nieces and nephews. Visitation: 2 – 8 pm Thursday and 10 am – 1 pm Friday at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes. Funeral: 1 pm Friday at the Funeral Home. Interment: Galena Cemetery, Greenville, Indiana. Expressions: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
