Marvin Foster

September 11, 1928 ~ January 26, 2018 (age 89)

MARVIN FOSTER, 89, passed away Friday January 26, 2018 at the Lazy Days Veterans Home in Greenville, IN.  He was born in Mercer County, KY. and was a Veteran of the United States Navy where he survived two plane crashes while serving.  He was a route superintendent in the industrial laundry business, a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite of Louisville, KY., the Kosair Shrine and Greenville United Methodist Church. Marvin was a former Scout Master for the Boy Scouts and an avid reader of American History and novels.  He enjoyed working in his yard, camping and traveling having taken two trips to Europe and a vacation to Hawaii. But above all else, Marvin treasured the time that he spent with his family.  He was preceded in death by his parents: Elmor and Clara Thelma Stratton Foster, and 2 brothers: Byron and Owen Hansford Foster. 

Survivors include:

            his wife: Mary Lou Morris Foster, whom he worshiped and adored for over 60 years,

            his son:  Byron Foster (Tresa),

            3 daughters: Terri Lynn Foster, Darlene Kimbler(Dale) and Dianna Kay Medlin(Dale),

            2 sisters: Rosamond Renn(Larry) and Mary Emma Chesser,

            and 3 Grandchildren:  Ashlee Foster, Bradley and Matthew Kimbler.

A celebration of Marvin’s life will be held at 10 AM Tuesday January 30, 2018 at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville (1119 E. Market St.) with burial in Highview Cemetery in Chaplin, KY.  Visitation will be from  2 – 8 PM Monday.

Memorial Contributions may be given to Rauch Industries.
