Robert L. “Bob” Kost, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. He was born September 11, 1934 in Harrison County, IN to the late Harry and Elizabeth (Stevens) Kost.

Bob was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, New Albany and the Crandall Masonic Lodge and the York Shrine in Evansville, IN. Bob Delivered meat for Wennings Packing Co, had been a butcher, then went on to work for the United States Department of Agriculture, Meat and Poultry Inspection Service until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife Dolores whom he married on November 24, 2001; sons Roger Kost (Teresa) and Ronald Kost (Mary); step-son Walter Ferber (Melanie); grandchildren Joshua Kost (Laurie), Dustin Kost and Amanda Johnson (Jeff); step grandchildren Jon Ferber and Nathan Blessinger; great-grandchildren Mackenzie and Riley Kost and a great granddaughter Lydia Sage on the way. He is also survived by siblings Betty Sarver (Don) of Richland City, IN, Calvin Kost (Shirley) of Arlington, TX, Ruth Graeter of Pekin, IN, Mary Gordon of Pilot Mt., North Carolina, Dewey Kost (Marilyn) of New Albany, Dale Kost (Vickie) of Fairland, IN, Sharon Parks (Lowell) of Corydon, IN, Wilma Kost  of New Albany, IN and Gary Kost (Linda Rusk) of Indianapolis, IN; sisters in law Linda Kost (Donald) and Linda Kost (Marvin).

He was preceded in death by his wife Wilma whom he married June 4, 1954 until her death on September 11, 1999, his parents and siblings Donald, Marvin and Carol Sue.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Friday at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Home (1119 E. Market St., New Albany)   

His funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday in the Market Street Chapel with visitation from 9 AM until the time of the service.

Interment will be at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, IN

Memorial contributions may be given in lieu of flowers to St. Jude or the charity of the donor’s choice.
